SUPPORTING PARENT-CARERS
We provide professionally trained Carer Support Workers who can come to your home to take over your caring responsibilities.
This can be in the form of regular weekly visits, at a time to suit your needs, or less frequent or occasional support, for example if you want a night out or need additional help during the school holidays.
All our services are fully risk assessed and planned by our competent Team and we aim to provide you with a Carer Support Worker whose skills and abilities match your needs.
Our Carer Support Workers have manual handling, first aid, food hygiene, infection control and health and safety training. We can also assist with specialist care routines and the administration of medication. Our staff also have a sound understanding of challenging behaviours and best practice in terms of managing these.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission.
In addition to helping with care tasks, our staff are also able to help with a range of light domestic duties, covering meal preparation, bed making and routine housework – but their focus will be your child or children.
We are also, subject to full assessment, able to take your child out.
Once introduced to your family, regular visits will normally be undertaken by the same member of staff, but with further staff introduced to you to ensure you have back-up and flexibility.
Please do contact us if you would like to discuss your needs further
If you have a Social Services Care Manager – you may be able to ask them to fund some of your respite needs or ask to receive direct payments so that you can purchase our support direct.
We also have limited funding to provide limited support, free of charge, to families caring for children who do not meet Social Services eligibility criteria.
Please also see the separate page for details about our two children and young people’s clubs.
